Stokke Mutable

The newly acquired Mutable needed to become profitable, had stability issues and needed to fit Stokke's design styleguide

The original design was clever and playful but lacked maturity. Excessive material use and several costly, non-essential features limited its commercial potential. By focusing on the product's core identity and eliminating unnecessary complexity, the design evolved into a lighter, more stable, and more profitable solution.

Small accessories were thoughtfully developed with close attention to detail and user experience. For example, the toy cup features a smooth interior surface that helps prevent colour pencils from leaving marks.
